Mar J. Cox was born and raised in Louisiana. Mar attends Georgetown University in Washington D.C., residing in Maryland when not in school. As a Theater and Performance Studies major, Mar’s practice in performance has grown academically and artistically. While at Georgetown Mar has written and devised many works that culminated in production. Among these include Mar’s first devised work, Sonder, a play about the agency of identity formation.
